Introduced in 1969, Eramet's briquet hardeners quickly became widely used throughout the United States as a reliable, low cost, and accurate method of alloying aluminum. Years of continued improvements, including the use of the high purity raw materials, have enabled Eramet's hardeners products to achieve growing international acceptance as the preferred alloying method for even the most demanding high quality aluminum products.
Eramet is the largest electrolytic chromium producer in the world and provides several grades of refined chrome metal to the superalloy and related industries. The vacuum operations produce an ultra low carbon ferrochrome along with degassed electrolytic chromium containing ultra low gas and sulfur contents. Variations of these products, nitriding and powders for example, provide several alternatives for many special and high demand applications.
